- This range of boxes is produced to show locally sourced (Fife) Scottish hardwoods. A touch of exotic hardwoods are added to complement the home grown timber from Scotland. Two samples are shown.
- The first box uses Spalted Beech with Padauk ; the second Spalted Beech and Purpleheart. The exotic edgings and trim on the expanses of the spalted wood give a hint of the surprise to come when the lid is lifted to reveal the internal surfaces are made entirely from Exotics.
- The box design is straight-forward but functional and elegant in its own way as befits a product of Scotland. In keeping with this the hinge arrangement is a pivot and no handle spoils the lines of the natural wood but a simple overhang at the front to permit the lid to be lifted with ease – a very tactile box.
- The boxes have a leather lining in keeping with the exotic hardwood colours and the finish is lacquer.
