- This box was inspired by a scallop shell lying on a beach slightly sunken on wet sand and the hand-made “shell” lid was carved from a single piece of Walnut chosen and oriented to portray the layer effect that can be seen on scallop shells.
- The box is made from solid Walnut with Maple stringing and is very tactile especially the Scallop shell lid which is carved inside and out.
- The Scallop shell theme continues in side the box with a Scallop shaped tray and with Scallop shaped dividers all hand-made in Walnut.
- The box and tray are lined with pink suede leather and the underside is finished in beige leather.
- Hinges are machined in brass with a 95 degree “stop”.
- Wax finish nicely burnished.
