Digby creates special one-off pieces as “room features”. He does this by scaling back full sized furniture or by selecting everyday objects from various eras. Quite often he will use Scottish hardwoods and colour to give the object even more impact. Examples are cabinets, chest of drawers, gramophones, luggage trunks, tables etc. The possibilities to produce real eye-catching objects are endless. Needless to say the pieces produced are truly original. The items do not have to be simply ornamental but can be made to serve a purpose also e.g. to hold jewellery, house games, celebrate a special day or achievement etc. In order to make such pieces Digby brings a wide range of skills to bear including carving, dyeing, veneering, lacquering, French polishing and wood shaping.
