- Blue Bird’s Eye Maple and the elegant hand-made curves of this box make for another rare piece. All inlays were made up to suit the design.
- The lid shape was achieved using moulding technique whereas the carcase was curved using hand planes and made up sanding blocks.
- Stringing is in Boxwood and banding in Maple and dyed Sycamore.
- The Mother-of-Pearl escutcheon was cut by hand then edged with dyed Sycamore.
- The Maple jewellery tray was veneered with Bird’s Eye Maple and the entire box and tray were lined with cream Moroccan leather.
- All hardware in brass – hinges (95 degree “stop”) and lock.
- The box was finished with a French polish to bring out the intriguing beauty and intricacy of the Bird’s Eye Maple.
