- Inlaid box showing a chart of the West Coast of Scotland from Skye to the Mull of Kintyre. Shown in “Homes & Interiors Scotland” and “Furniture & Cabinet-making” magazines.
- Made as commission piece resulting from exhibition and involving a great deal of hand crafting.
- Sea areas represented by dyed blue Sycamore – land masses in Cherry. All marquetry work was done by hand using a scalpel. Finished with a French polish.
- Stringing made from Cherry and fitted to all edges and joined with double-mitres at each corner.
- All hardware in brass – hinges and lock.
- Steamed Beech used for internal surfaces and tray. Linings of box and tray in blue Velvet with “ring-run” section in tray.
- High quality finish using French polish.
