  • This box was made to show the piece of Burr Elm that forms the central inlay of the lid. The Burr came from the Elm tree that was cut down and removed from in front of the Golf Tavern in the Meadows in Edinburgh. It was provided by Edinburgh City Council.
  • The Burr Elm was book-matched to create an attractive inlay and sits completely flush to the lid surface.
  • The box is made of Lime wood from Fife and the only other feature is a small banding that runs completely around the lower part of the base. The banding was made from the same burr. The box is 14” square and 3” high.
  • The sections inside the box were formed in Lime and completely lined with a striking green suede.
  • The box is finished with a durable lacquer.
